Mission & Goal

Transport America’s veterans to Washington, D.C. to visit those memorials dedicated to honor their service and sacrifices.

Helping every single veteran in America, willing and able of getting on a plane or a bus, visit THEIR memorial. The Honor Flight Bay Area hub covers California from the San Francisco Bay Area to the Oregon border.

Priority & Eligibility

Top priority is given to America’s most senior heroes — survivors of World War II, the Korean, Vietnam, or Gulf War 1 and any Veteran with a terminal illness who wish to visit THEIR memorial. With the completion of the Gulf War 1 memorial in the Fall of 2026, the program will transition to Gulf War 1 Veterans who served following the Vietnam Veterans in priority. Unfortunately, those veterans that have previously taken an Honor Flight trip as a Veteran are ineligible for this program in order to make room for those who have not.

All men and women who served stateside or overseas between 1940 and 1991 with a DD214 showing an “Honorable Discharge” from military service are eligible.

Philosophy

Since America felt it was important to build a memorial to the service and the ultimate sacrifice of her veterans, the Honor Flight Network believes it’s equally important that they actually get to visit and experience THEIR memorial.
