How To Apply

Honor Flight Bay Area recognizes American veterans for their service and sacrifices by flying them to Washington, D.C. to see THEIR memorials at no expense to them. Top priority is given to World War II, Korea, Vietnam, and terminally ill Veterans from all wars. We will begin taking applications for Gulf War 1 Veterans in 2026 since their memorial will be completed in the fall of 2026. If a Veteran has already taken an Honor Flight trip as a Veteran, they do not qualify for this program. Additionally, we can only take Veterans with an “Honorable Discharge” as proven by a DD214 or other discharge document stating that status.

In order for Honor Flight Bay Area to achieve this goal, Guardians fly with each of the Veterans on every flight providing assistance and helping Veterans have a safe, memorable and rewarding experience. Guardian support is not optional since it is an integral part of safety and emotional support for our Veterans. We encourage family members as Guardians with the exception of spouses or significant others.

For what you and your comrades have given to us, please consider this a small token of appreciation from all of us at Honor Flight Bay Area.
